Militia: Lord Pelindar leads the Lances of Leilon, a formidable fighting unit. The militia is composed of as many as 200 warriors. In times of need, citizens are incorporated into the militia.

Located to the South of Crossergate, Leilon is a small town that serves as a convenient resting place for weary travelers on the High Road between Neverwinter and Waterdeep. To serve the needs of the numerous caravans and wandering adventurers that pass through the town, Leilon has a number of shops and inns, including the famed Lances of Leilon Weapon Shop and The Sword of Leilon Inn. The Knight's Goblet Tavern caters mainly to adventurers and other visitors, while the Orc's Tusk is favored by town residents.

Recently, Lord Pelindar has reported frequent assaults by the denizens of the Mere of Dead Men, a massive swamp just South of the town. Fearing some dire plot, Lord Pelindar has sought help from Lord Nasher of Neverwinter. Lord Nasher in turn has asked the help of various adventurers in solving this mystery.

Game Notes: The Lances of Leilon patrol the streets of the town, preventing attacks on travelers by evil adventurers. Travelers should be warned, however, because monsters sometimes evade these patrols and can attack at any time. The High Tower of Thalivar, an abandoned wizard's tower in the center of Leilon, is said to be guarded from intrusion by dangerous magical wards. Heading South from Leilon brings one to the Mere of Dead Men, which is inhabited by all manner of nasty creatures.
