The tiny village of Westwood is just South of Red Larch along the Long Road. This once peaceful place has been almost completely destroyed by a band of unusually powerful orcs. Nobody is quite sure where these Black Orcs came from, or how they became so intelligent, strong, and well-equipped. Since nobody knows how this happened, many rumors have been bandied about. One such rumor is that a band of ordinary orcs found a powerful artifact in one of the many ruins left behind by the dwarves of the Delzoun dynasty. Another suggests that the orcs have been magically altered by a crazed sorceror. A third invokes contact between a powerful orc chieftain and denizens of the Lower Planes. Which of these rumors is true, if any, remains unknown.

The Westwood areas are extremely dangerous. Since it is quite difficult for a single character to survive, they are recommended for parties of high level characters. The Westwood areas are also PvP areas, adding to the danger.
